Trade supply

Everest aluminum profiles and components for trade buyers

Not every buyer wants a finished assembly. Fabrication shops and glazing contractors working from their own drawings need profiles, gaskets, hardware and accessories, priced against a take-off and delivered against a programme. This page covers the component-supply route, including the non-insulated 60 000 and 63 000 systems whose suitability is application-specific.

Everest architectural aluminum systems for projects in Colorado, New York and California — product selection, estimating and project coordination through Gloria Glass, with Denver, New York City and Los Angeles as the principal target markets.

Who this is for

  • Aluminum fabrication shops producing their own windows, doors and screens
  • Glazing contractors self-performing assembly on a project
  • Metal fabricators adding architectural aluminum to an existing workload
  • Contractors sourcing components to complete or extend an existing installation

Common project applications

  • Shop fabrication of window and door units from supplied profile
  • Extension or infill work matching an existing aluminum system
  • Screens, frames and secondary assemblies produced in the buyer's own shop
  • Non-insulated framing in applications where thermal separation is not required
  • Component top-ups where a project needs additional gaskets, hardware or accessories

Non-insulated systems: 60 000 and 63 000

The 60 000 and 63 000 families are non-insulated aluminum systems. Non-insulated framing has a legitimate and long-standing role — interior screens and partitions, unconditioned spaces, certain commercial and back-of-house conditions — and it is materially more economical than an insulated equivalent. It is also the wrong choice in a conditioned exterior opening in a cold climate, where the absence of a thermal break shows up as condensation and comfort complaints.

The honest position is that suitability is application-specific. We will not recommend a non-insulated family for an exterior conditioned opening simply because it prices well, and we will not rule it out for an interior or unconditioned application where it is entirely appropriate. Which side of that line a project sits on is determined during specification.

What a take-off review does

Sending a cut list and receiving a price is straightforward. What is more useful, and what we prefer to do, is to read the take-off against the profiles being ordered and flag anything that looks inconsistent — a hardware item that does not belong to that family, a gasket that suits an adjacent profile rather than the one specified, a quantity that implies a different configuration to the drawings.

None of that replaces the fabricator's responsibility for their own shop drawings. It simply catches the class of error that is cheap to fix on paper and expensive to fix in aluminum.

Finish and matching

Matching an existing finish is the most common source of disappointment in component supply. Anodized and powder-coated finishes age differently, batches vary, and a colour name is not a match. Where material is joining existing work in a visible location, we ask for a physical sample and set expectations honestly about what can and cannot be matched.

What we need to prepare a budget

  1. A take-off or cut list, or the drawings from which one can be produced
  2. Profile references or, where references are unknown, sections and dimensions
  3. Quantities by length, and whether stock lengths or cut lengths are wanted
  4. Finish requirement — mill, anodized or powder-coated — and the colour reference
  5. Gasket, hardware and accessory requirements alongside the profile
  6. Delivery address, receiving hours and unloading capability
  7. Required-on-site date and whether a phased release is needed

Supply only or coordinated installation

This is a supply-only route. Fabrication, assembly, glazing and installation remain with the buyer, and the buyer's shop drawings govern. We support product selection, take-off review, estimating and delivery coordination. Where a buyer also wants installation, that is arranged separately as a project-coordinated scope.

Glazing, hardware and finish coordination

  • Profile references are confirmed against actual sections before an order is placed, particularly on matching work.
  • Finish is confirmed with a colour reference and, where matching matters, against a sample rather than a name.
  • Gasket and hardware compatibility with the specific profile family is checked rather than assumed.
  • Cut lengths, stock lengths and packing are agreed so material arrives usable.
  • Delivery is coordinated against the shop's programme, not just the site's.

What must be verified before specification

Nothing on this page is a commitment about a specific project. Each item below is confirmed for the project in front of us before anything is specified or ordered.

  • Availability of each profile, gasket, hardware item and finish for the quantities required
  • Whether the intended system is suitable for the application, particularly for non-insulated families
  • Whether the buyer's shop drawings have been reviewed against the profile's constraints
  • Any project requirement for documentation, certification or traceability
  • Delivery timing, packaging and receiving arrangements
  • Finish matching expectations where material joins existing work

Availability, final specifications, certification, engineering requirements, glazing, finish, delivery and project suitability are confirmed for each project.

This page covers the general approach. The series pages below carry the manufacturer catalog data for the specific Everest families that apply here.
