Planning an aluminum package around access, not just design

On most New York City projects the binding constraint is not the elevation drawing — it is the route between the street and the opening. A panel that is straightforward on a suburban site becomes a different unit entirely when it has to pass a lobby, a freight elevator with a fixed door opening, and a corridor with a turn in it. Verification also captures what sits behind the finishes — lintels, slab edges, existing framing, waterproofing — because that is what the new frame attaches to and drains against. Where the substrate is uncertain, that uncertainty is written into the estimate rather than absorbed silently.
